Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®)
For more than 50 years the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) assessment has been the most trusted and widely used personality instrument in the world. It offers a foundation for understanding individual differences and applying that understanding to the ways people think, communicate, and interact. MBTI® was developed by Isabel Briggs Myers and Katharine C. Briggs, and it has helped millions in the world develop more productive work teams and build more effective relationships.
The MBTI® instrument incorporates Carl Jung’s theory of psychological type and determines preferences on four dichotomies:
Extraversion-Introversion
Thinking-Feeling
Sensing-Intuition
Judging-Perceiving
These preferences result in 16 different personality types The MBTI® assessment is used to develop individuals, teams, and organizations to meet today’s challenges in such areas as communication, team building, leadership, conflict management, problem solving, diversity and multicultural training, and career management.
